I’ve been wanting to buy a Filipiniana dress to wear for events in California. I have a purple and pink dress, but it’s not the classic off-white dress. However, because of restricted traveling, I haven’t been able to travel to the Philippines and purchase one. My daughter needed a dress to model for a multi-cultural show, so I ordered one for myself, too. Honestly, I was nervous because this is the first time I’m purchasing online for a Filipiniana dress. Mu youngest daughter and I were so impressed with our dresses. It’s like the dresses that Roland Lirio, my friend, used to design and make for me in the Philippines. Our dresses are not only beautiful. They fit us perfectly.
I love them soooo much that I convinced my 2 older daughters to choose Filipiniana dresses for themselves and Barong Tagalog for their husband and boyfriend for the younger of the two. These are my Christmas gifts for them. We’re still waiting for them to be mailed. That’s the impressive thing, too. I paid for regular shipping, but they arrived much earlier than expected.
My youngest daughter’s show is today, so I’ll take a picture and upload it. I’ll also upload a picture of our family when we wear them for Simbang Gabi.
Thank you, Barong World, for making Filipiniana dresses and barongs accessible to those who live in the US. I wish I heard about you years ago when I’ve been wanting to buy the dress that I purchased. Let me know if you’d like me to help you advertise your amazing craftsmanship.
